Program Overview

This 1,000-hour program provides comprehensive training over two semesters in one year. In the first semester, students focus on theoretical areas of the science of beauty. The second semester emphasizes practical application in real-life settings, including preparation for licensing and clinic services. Students become eligible for a 600-hour student permit during the program and, upon graduation, are eligible to sit for licensing examinations. Dental Radiology Course (ACIT STUDENTS ONLY) Tuesday 6:00pm - 9:00pm Tuition $950 Radiology Badge $130 and administration fees $55

***Potential students must schedule a Dental Radiology Prior Knowledge Assessment by emailing dlove@acitech.org. This assessment must be completed before students are permitted to enroll in the Dental Radiology Course.*** This course is designed to prepare working dental assistants or dental office employees for DANB’s Radiation and Safety Examination which has been recognized by the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (Board) as its licensing examination. The x-ray course is open to those with prior knowledge of dentistry and they are responsible for seeking out an office to complete their clinical hours. Course content includes exposure and evaluation of radiographs, film processing and mounting, radiation protection and safety, nature and properties of x-rays, quality assurance and much more. Students will also participate in lab experiences and clinical education on patients in an approved dental office. Clinical education is completed upon passing both the didactic and laboratory procedures; have an approved “clinical affiliate application and curriculum completion statement” form approved by the Bureau of X-Ray Compliance; and permission from the school.
