This American Red Cross course trains individuals to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life threatening adult and pediatric emergencies such as respiratory or cardiac problems and sudden illness. First Aid is included. Students will have the opportunity to practice on the training manikin and the test for certification will be administered the same night. Certifications are valid for 2 years.

Students will be responsible to register and submit payment for semester 2 in the spring.*** This Cosmetology program provides students with the required 1,000 hour program training in all aspects of cosmetology over 2 semesters - 1 year. During the first semester of training students will complete training in all theoretical areas of the science of beauty. The second semester of training will focus on practical application in real life settings, licensing preparation, and clinic services. At the 600 hour mark students will become eligible for a student permit that will allow the student to provide services in the student clinic and become employed in a salon, shop, or spa. Upon graduation, students become eligible to sit for the licensing examinations.
This is the second section of a two-semester course. This course is for the student who is interested in pursuing a career in the Automobile service industry. A 50/50 mix of classroom theory and practical hands-on shop application, this course will prepare the student as an entry-level technician in auto dealerships, private repair garages or national franchise shops. This course will also help those currently employed in the industry who desire to further their career potential. School vehicles and required tools are provided, and the students can work on their own vehicle where it coincides with training. This program will also help prepare the student for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. Pre-requisite: Automotive Technology and Service I
This course is designed for students who would like to advance their skill set in the Automotive Service Industry. All vehicle systems are heavily electronic. The ability to properly navigate a wiring diagram, understand system operation and how to properly test various circuits is now a necessity throughout the Automotive Service Industry. All skill levels will benefit and are welcome in this class.Areas of study include:● Intro to Automotive Electrical (Volts, Amps, Grounds and Resistance)● Intro to Scan Tools, Meters and Oscilloscopes● Diagrams & Testing Electrical● Relays and Modules● Sensors, Solenoids and Actuators● “Real Time” Oscilloscope Usage for your shop. The course is a 50/50 mix of classroom training and hands-on shop work. All required tools and shop vehicles are provided. This course also prepares students for successful completion of the ASE A6 Automobile/Light Truck - Electrical/Electronic Systems test.

Troubleshooting basic to advanced levels, methods, procedures, responsibilities, electrical shock, and electrical safety. Use of test meters and basic circuit measurements. Residential and basic Commercial type applications.
Second Semester of a two-semester course. Learn air conditioning installation and service. Work on systems, conducting pressure testing, recovery, and charging, read control diagrams and wire your own system. Work on ice makers, walk-in boxes and even a showcase. You will work with regulations that relate to the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry.
This prepares a student for the Black Seal License examination including high and low-pressure boiler operations, starting from the very basics of boiler operator mechanics. Please note: this is a 6-week course that will address all aspects of Black Seal Operations. Requirements: To be eligible for the Black Seal License examination, the student /applicant must have at least three (3) months experience as a helper, apprentice, trainee, or assistant to a licensed Black Seal operator. Also, the student/applicant must be able to produce, upon request, a boiler room logbook with his/her identified name in the log book for licensure application.
This is the first course in a comprehensive two-semester sequence designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of plumbing systems. Through a blend of in-depth theoretical instruction and extensive hands-on practical application, students will master the essential skills required for the repair, installation, and routine maintenance of various piping systems, plumbing fixtures, and associated fittings. Key topics will include safety protocols, tool identification and proper usage, an introduction to different pipe materials and their applications, and fundamental techniques for ensuring leak-free connections. Students will gain valuable experience working with industry-standard equipment and practices, preparing them for the advanced concepts covered in the second semester.

Students will learn welding safety, oxygen-acetylene safety and cutting, SMAW (stick welding), introduction to MIG welding, and welding metallurgy. There will be time in the classroom to learn welding theory behind each subject. The students will have the option to take the American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE tests which consist of written tests and a welding test at the end of Intermediate. AWS SENSE is the welding industry's most comprehensive standard and program for entry-level welders. If successful in passing nine written tests and a destructive bend test at the end of intermediate, they will receive an Entry Level 1 Welder Certificate and wallet card from the American Welding Society.

This introductory course gives Medical Assistant students an overview of the medical assisting profession, medical terminology, interpersonal skills, study techniques and basic clinical skills. If students are interested in a clinical experience, notify your instructor and we will assist with placement. Students may eligible to sit for the CCMA exam.
This course is designed to give the student an introduction to the field of dentistry and dental assisting, plus entry-level skills for an uncertified dental assistant. Upon completion of this course, the student will have developed the skills to meet the minimum entry-level skill requirement for a dental secretary, dental receptionist, and dental chairside assistant. The course outline will include Chairside Assisting, Dental Anatomy, and Office Procedures. Office Emergencies along with CPR and First Aid Certifications will be included.
This class is an ICE review and prep kit that provides a blueprint for DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) exam readiness. It includes lectures, handouts and practice questions. This review for dental assistants serves to familiarize them with the requirements for the Dental Assisting National Board’s Infection Control Examination (ICE). The course provides insight into recommendations for healthcare workers to implement and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for patients and providers in the dental setting. Topics presented will address critical information and current practices for all dental assistants required by many states.
***Potential students must schedule a Dental Radiology Prior Knowledge Assessment by emailing dlove@acitech.org. This assessment must be completed before students are permitted to enroll in the Dental Radiology Course.*** This course is designed to prepare working dental assistants or dental office employees for DANB’s Radiation and Safety Examination which has been recognized by the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (Board) as its licensing examination. The x-ray course is open to those with prior knowledge of dentistry and they are responsible for seeking out an office to complete their clinical hours. Course content includes exposure and evaluation of radiographs, film processing and mounting, radiation protection and safety, nature and properties of x-rays, quality assurance and much more. Students will also participate in lab experiences and clinical education on patients in an approved dental office. Clinical education is completed upon passing both the didactic and laboratory procedures; have an approved “clinical affiliate application and curriculum completion statement” form approved by the Bureau of X-Ray Compliance; and permission from the school. In addition, specimen collection, federal safety regulations, and medical ethics will be discussed and students will be prepared for the ASCP/NCCT Certification exam (this is a National Certification). Please note in order to be a certified phlebotomist, you must complete your externship at a full-service laboratory for documented 100 venipunctures and 25 skin punctures. All efforts will be made to assist with acquiring an externship with LabCorp.
